Title: "Choosing in large worlds: the mindshaping hypothesis"

Abstract: The object of this paper is to develop a model of coordination in large worlds, by explicitly integrating how players form their beliefs, and how those beliefs are influenced by the social environment within which the players co-evolve. We argue that coordination is not an issue of equilibrium selection (i.e. how to discriminate ex post between rational solutions) but rather of convergence to a shared representation of the game. We define a decision procedure describing the behaviour of players who intend to play focal points, axiomatise this procedure, and offer an evolutionary model of focal points.
