Title: “The UN Sustainable Development Goals: Challenges for Implementation”

Short bio: Patrick Gilabert is a Development economist working at the UN. He has expertise in SDGs, international relations, multilateral and bilateral diplomacy, investment and export promotion, value chain, He has innovation, technology foresight, CSR and peace building in least developing countries (LDCs) and emerging economies. He is former UNIDO Representative in Viet Nam where he led a technical cooperation portfolio of 29 M USD supporting private sector development, investment and subcontracting promotion, CSR, trade capacity building, agro industries, cleaner production and energy efficiency. Before being posted in Viet Nam, he was UNIDO Representative for the Indian Ocean countries (2007-2010), based in Antananarivo and in charge of Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles and Mauritius and industrial development officer in UNIDO HQ Vienna (in charge of investment and subcontracting promotion in Africa, Arab countries and China). He holds a Ph.D in Information Technology and a Masters in sociology/economy from Aix-Marseille University (France) and the Trium executive MBA awarded by London School of Economics (LSE), New York University Stern School of Business (NYU Stern) and HEC School of Management Paris.
