Information for your arrival in Nice

I. Learning agreement

Please prepare your learning agreement (contrat d’étude) and bring it on registration day, September 2, 2016. This will allow us to assure you a place in the courses of your choice, so long as the course schedules are compatible.

II. Your arrival

1. Registration. You must complete your registration at the office of Murielle Calogero on Friday, September 2, 2016 between 8 and 12 o’clock, at the Registrars (la Scolarité). The meeting for the second semester is Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9 o’clock. You will need your European health card, your passport and your planned learning agreement.

2. Course sign-up and schedules. Your presence is required for the International student meeting on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 9 o’clock in the computer room (salle informatique). You will finalize your course list and schedule, with the help of staff and the website (Your login and password will be conveyed upon registration.) Your finalized learning agreement is to be returned to Mme Murielle Calogero at the Registrars (la Scolarité) (e-mail :

3. Medical certificate. After the reunion you will need to make an appointment to obtain a French medical certificate allowing you to participate in sports courses at the University. We propose a medical cabinet with several doctors, close to the Faculty. The address is: Cabinet médical – 62 boulevard Paul Montel, Entrance D – 2nd floor. Make an appointment by phone at Bus lines n° 9/10.

You must be present at the Faculty at these dates to register and sign up for courses.

To get the Faculty of Sports Sciences, buses n°70 and 59 are the most practical (plan on about 45 minutes of transportation from the student housing Jean Médecin).



III. Meals & Housing

Meals : A University restaurant is available for affordable lunches. Lunch can be purchased with your student card (given at registration) once charged, or with a bank card.

IV. Calendar and exams

The calendar is as follows (see also: :


  • First semester courses begin Thursday, September 8, 2016

  • The university closes for vacation between December 17 and January 2

  • First semester exams end January 6, 2017. (If you were absent on the day of a quiz or exam, you can make it up during the exams for “status particuliers” end of December / beginning of January).

  • Make-up exams for International students who did not validate a course (particularly those students who will not stay until June) are on January 16, 2017. (The jury for International students is on January 12, 2017).

  • Second semester courses begin Monday, January 9, 2017.

  • First semester exams end April 28, 2017. (If you were absent on the day of a quiz or exam, you can make it up during the exams for “status particuliers” end of April).

  • Make-up exams for any students who did not validate a course: June 1-10, 2017 for first semester; June 12-17, 2017 for second semester.



No special arrangements can be made for these exams. Please do not buy return tickets (train or plane) before knowing your exam dates.


Any departure before exams is considered as an abandonment. Courses not evaluated will not be validated.


V. French courses (free of charge)

French language courses are proposed free of charge for all International students (3 hours per week for 10 weeks; beginning October – end December or beginning February – mid-April).

Summer University (Université d’été): Intensive language courses (with charge) are proposed July 5-26, 2016 or August 2-24, 2016. For more information:
